Rev.
André Webb, affectionately known as ‘Blues”,
was born August 13, 1965, to Rachel Ann Webb and the late Cornelius
Cheek in Washington D.C. He is a product of D.C. public schools.
“Blues” grew up in the church where he began to exercise his God-given
gift to play the drums. Although he joined the high school band as
a saxophonist; ironically he had to substitute for an absent drummer
and as a result, his band teacher insisted that he move to the drum
section.
Blues’ dedication
to learning music and his commitment to the music ministry has allowed
him to be a part of ministry for over 20 years.
His accomplishments are numerous. He has had the privilege of working
with many great artists, such as Rev. James Cleveland, John P. Kee,
Karen Clark-Sheard, Yolanda Adams, BeBe & CeCe Winans, and Rev.
Richard Smallwood. Blues is known throughout the gospel industry as
a well-rounded musician, skilled in his craft and we can’t forget -
a comedian.
Blues has been a part of the C.P.B.B.C. family since 1999, where he
has worked with the music department. He is married to Danielle Erniece
Webb, and from this union they have two wonderful children Andrew Joseph
(2), and Kai Kimberly (8 months).
Blues has answered the call to go to another level. His prayer is
that he would always be “ready with a word in his mouth”.
