Rev.
Denise Melissa Hunt, the 11th child of 13 siblings, was born in Conway,
South Carolina to the late Albery Hunt Sr. and Wilhelmina Hunt. After receiving
her Bachelor of Business Administration degree, she relocated to the Washington
DC Area in 1990 to begin her career with the Federal Government.
Rev. Denise accepted her call to public ministry in 2004. She currently ministers
at the Waxter’s Facility for Girls in Laurel MD, serves as a Sunday School
Teacher, is a member of the Victorious Dance Ministry, and teaches a
small bible study on her job. As a survivor of depression, Rev. Denise now
understands what it means to live life abundantly. Her passion is to
see that all those who are held captive to the strongholds of their minds
are freed to live the abundant life that only Jesus can provide; for
God’s word says “He came that we might have life and that more abundantly”
(John 10:10).
Her favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all
thine heart; and lean not to thine own understanding. In all thy ways
acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths.” Her favorite hymn is
“I Surrender All,” which symbolizes what we all must do in order to
serve the Lord completely so that He may use us to carry out His perfect
will. In Rev. Denise’s words, “I have surrendered all to God; all to him
I freely give.”
Rev. Denise is the proud mother of the joy of her heart, her daughter, Katherine
Nicole Hunt.
