 Rev.
Vanessa Parrish was born in Salisbury, Maryland. She received her
education through Maryland public schools. After graduating from
high school, Rev. Vanessa went to school to pursue her cosmetology
career. Her passion for cosmetology stems from her desire to make
women with low self-esteem issues feel good about themselves. She
was a platform artist for three years with Luster Products and has
been a hairstylist for 19 years.
The Lord called Rev. Vanessa to
open her own salon in June 2000. She is the owner of Encore Hair
Boutique, which the Lord gave her and called her to be the Elite
Not Carnal but Ordained Revelation of Excellence in the beauty
industry. God gave her the vision of Encore to be a place of healing
and ministry
to women who have self-esteem issues. Her ministry to women has
taken her from her styling chair to conferences, workshops and seminars,
where she has ministered throughout the Washington Metropolitan
area. Rev. Vanessa is married to a mighty man of God, Mitchell Parrish,
and together they have two beautiful and wonderful daughters, Jar’Dan
14 and Jordin 10. They reside in Upper Marlboro, MD.
The Parrish family joined Cornerstone in 1998. Although called by
God many years ago, Rev. Vanessa accepted her call to public ministry
in July 2003. She looks forward to being a vessel that God can use.
She believes I Thessalonians 5:17 that we should “pray without ceasing.”
