Edita “Dee Dee” Perkins was born in Norfolk, Virginia, the first of three daughters born to Dorothy and James Perkins. She was raised in Danbury, Connecticut and was educated in the Danbury Public School System. Upon her graduation from high school, she left Connecticut to attend Elizabeth City State University in Elizabeth City, NC, graduating with a degree in Economics and Finance in 1987. In 1988 Dee Dee moved to the D.C. Metropolitan area and joined the Mt.
Sinai
Baptist
Church
where she was a member until 1997, when she and her daughters, became members of
Cornerstone
Peaceful
Bible
Baptist
Church
.
Since joining CPBBC Dee Dee has been very active in several ministries including; 11th/ 12th grade and Young Adult Sunday School teacher, Young Adult Choir, Hands of Excellence sign language ministry, Children of the Promise and Fruit of the Spirit children’s dance ministry as well as the Ministers in training class.
God started Dee Dee on the path to public ministry with the scripture Isaiah 61:1-3; The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach the good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives, and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion.
Dee Dee has two beautiful and accomplished daughters; Angela, a 2007 graduate of

, and Veronica, a freshman at the
