Rev. Benjamin Robinson was born in Washington, D.C., and currently resides in Riverdale, Maryland.   He was married for 33 years to Kathy Robinson, from Pittsburgh until the Lord called her home in 2005.   Rev. Ben has a daughter, Faith Robinson, and two sons, Stephen and Christian Robinson.

Rev. Ben was called into the ministry in 1980 and was licensed at Peace Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Arie L. Mangrum.  Rev. Ben taught Sunday school, but also felt a burden to witness in the hospitals, jails, half-way houses, drug rehab facilities, nursing homes, and on the streets of Washington D.C.   He was an active member of the Outreach Ministry, in door-to-door witnessing.   Rev. Ben felt the Lord had given him the gift of evangelism.  Rev. Ben left Peace Baptist to help his uncle out at the ‘Evening Light Church of Christ’ for a few years and was ordained there.

Rev. Ben joined Cornerstone when Pastor Daniel was just starting out in Rogers Heights Elementary School.  At Cornerstone, Rev. Ben taught Sunday School, played his flute and saxophone during praise and worship, and was instrumental in starting the Outreach Ministry at Cornerstone.

He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, with a major in Mathematics.  He also has web design training and is currently doing graduate work for his Masters in Secondary Education.

Rev. Ben is thankful that Jesus has taken him “From the Blues to the Good News of the Gospel.”  Rev. Ben played the blues on his saxophone while in the world, but now plays his saxophone for the good news of the gospel.

Rev. Ben is currently a member of the Outreach Ministry and ministers at the Cheltenham Juvenile Detention Facility (Boys Village) and the Shepherd’s Cove Womens and Childrens Shelter in Capital Heights, Maryland. Rev. Ben has also written a book of poetry titled  “From the Blues to the Good News and Other Poems” and produced two rap CD’s titled “From the Blues to the Good News of the Gospel” and “From the Blues to the Good News of Education”, which can be found at Rev. Ben’s website: http://www.systemexpert.biz .

One of Rev. Ben’s favorite scriptures is Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” (KJV)
