On October 19, 2006,
the first Mission Team of CPBBC departed at 4:00AM from Upper Marlboro,
Maryland to the Baltimore Washington International airport in route to Tunica,
Mississippi (45 minutes south of Memphis, TN). The Team consisted
of: Rev. Judy Bowden, Vivian Bridgers, Michelle
Chambers, Andrea Clark, Mary Craft, Jacquelyn Garrison, Arnette W. Jackson,
Brittany James, Robin Henson, and Rev. Gloria Roberson.
Our team partnered with Bethany
Lutheran Church located in Austin, Texas. Only God could have paired these two
churches together: Ten African American women from CPBBC with Ten Caucasian
men and women from Austin, Texas. The union between the two churches
was one of purpose for the mission of God, passion for Jesus Christ,
and filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. The groups stayed focused,
open to the voice of Jesus, ready to minister, and ministry-minded throughout
the five-day journey.
We bless our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for revealing
His love, glory, and power in Tunica, MS.
TO GOD BE THE
GLORY FOR THE GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE!
